1. A genius. He, alongwith his family, reverted to Islam from
   Hinduism. "Islam gave me peace" he says. He has performed
   Hajj of Makkah also. There is no 'sword' that forced him to
   Islam. That's how Islam spread in India over 1000 years.
   Islam is truly "Peace".

4. i dont understand the lyrics but i love this song. does
   anyone know if there is any translations to english?
5. this song defined patriotism for our generation .. &
   transformed RAHMAN into a legend (he was already a stalwart
   though) i also read somewhere that orthodox Muslims used to
   harass him because he used "VANDE MATARAM" in this song
   which Muslims do not use! But he didnt budge, saying that
   "love for the country & for the religion have nothing to do
   with each other & should be kept independent of each
   other" A true Indian indeed :)
